Admission FAQs

Can I use only one sitting for my O'Level results?
Yes, one sitting is preferred and strongly recommended. Federal Polytechnic Bali accepts a maximum of two sittings for O'Level results, provided the candidate obtains the required 5 credit passes across both sittings combined, with English and Mathematics included. However, some departments may require specific subjects in a single sitting — confirm with the Admissions Office.
What happens if I don't pass the Post-UTME screening?
Candidates who are unsuccessful at the Post-UTME stage are not offered admission in that session. They may reapply in a subsequent session after improving their JAMB score or O'Level qualifications. The Post-UTME score is combined with the JAMB UTME score to determine merit-based admission placement.
Is there a minimum JAMB score for Computer Science?
The minimum cut-off mark set by JAMB is 140 for polytechnic programmes, but the institution and department may set a higher internal cut-off. The current session's internal cut-off is communicated during form purchase and on the institutional notice board. A higher JAMB score significantly improves your chances of admission.
Can I transfer from another institution into ND or HND?
Inter-institutional transfers are possible but are subject to NBTE guidelines, available space, and departmental approval. Transfer applicants must meet all standard admission requirements and may be required to sit additional assessments. Contact the Admissions Office directly for transfer enquiries and to understand the current academic session's transfer policy.
Do I need to physically come to the polytechnic to apply?
The initial JAMB registration and form purchase may be done online through the institution's portal. However, attendance at the Post-UTME screening is compulsory and must be done physically on campus. Departmental registration after admission is also done in person at the CS Department. Plan to be on campus for screening and registration.
Is there a specific age limit for admission?
There is no strict upper age limit for ND or HND admission at Federal Polytechnic Bali. However, JAMB requires candidates to be at least 15 years old (some institutions prefer 16+) to be eligible for UTME. Mature-entry provisions exist for older candidates. Certificate courses have no age restrictions at all.
